Although gas and airfare costs have begun to decrease, alternative travel strategies such as visiting budget-friendly destinations or using home exchange platforms like People Like Us and Home Exchange are seeing increased popularity. Home Exchange notes a 32% increase in membership over the last year.

Movie ticket prices have also risen, with one estimate placing the increase at over 6% compared to the previous year.
