Four former Milwaukee hotel workers are facing sentencing in the 2024 death of D'Vontaye Mitchell.

Two former employees of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Milwaukee have been sentenced for their involvement in the death of Devante Mitchell, which occurred outside the hotel. Brandon Turner, a former security guard who pleaded guilty to being a party to felony murder, was sentenced to 12 months of probation. If Turner violates the terms of his probation, he will serve a two-year sentence, including one year in prison. Mitchell's family had requested the maximum sentence, expressing their grief and disappointment during the court proceedings.

Those employees to who pleaded guilty to felony murder are being sentenced today. Mitchell's wife speaking inside the courtroom this morning telling one of the men she hopes they suffer in their sentence to have to sit and live with his decisions for the rest of his life because now I have to sit here and explain to my Children why their father is never coming home. So Mitchell's wife was speaking to Brandon Turner who pled guilty to being a party to a felony murder. The judge was sentenced him was has sentenced him to 12 months of probation. But if he violates those terms, he would serve a two year sentence with one of those years being behind bars. Turner was a former security guard at the hotel. He faced up to 15 years in prison and Mitchell's family members had asked the court to consider the maximum sentence coming up at 12 30 or Jenna Ray who was in the courtroom when Turner spoke will share what the family had to say.
