A five-year-old boy named William left his home in Jacksonville, Florida, and walked alone to a nearby Chick-fil-A restaurant, where he was found eating a breakfast sandwich with the manager. Police responded and, after learning William did not know his address but could describe his house, located his family, who were unaware he had left.

William's parents were not charged, as they had been asleep during the incident. The police later reunited with the family, and William thanked the officers with cookies. Authorities highlighted the importance of teaching young children their address and phone number for safety.

The police hopped the fence and found William's parents were home and mortified to learn about his adventure. Hey, what's up, buddy? Hey, dude. You remember us? Weeks later, William and his family reunited with the officers. William gave them cookies to say thank you. The police say William's parents were not in trouble because they were asleep when he snuck out in the early morning hours. But they say this is a good reminder to teach your kids their address and phone number just in case. And give them your order so they can pick something up. Ah, yes, good idea. In my case, when I was six, I decided to walk home from a party before it was over. Saw my dad pull out the parking lot. I walked home three miles, dead of winter, got there, scared, terrified. Mom was happy to see me. Dad, he was a little concerned. He had been looking for me with the fire department, the cops, the whole thing, but he reminded me this is not the right thing to do. And never let me forget about it. I would still tell, it reminds you to this day. To this very day.
