The New Year's Eve fire at Le Constellation bar killed dozens of people and wounded scores more, many of them teenagers. This volunteer rescuer has been struggling to process what he saw. My father took an extinguisher. We arrived at the scene, it was dramatic, terrible. We saw people coming out with no clothes on, burnt all over, their faces gone. A criminal probe has been launched into the people who ran the bar. A preliminary investigation has found that sparklers on bottles being carried too close to the ceiling are likely what triggered the blaze.
