The initiative follows an executive order signed by President Trump aimed at improving safety in the district.

So the White House tells us that they are still working out the details on how this plan will actually be executed, but what they can confirm is starting as early as tomorrow, people could start to see an increase of federal law enforcement on the streets of D.C. Early this week, the President threatened to federalize D.C. In this comes after a former DOJ employee was brutally attacked by teens in Northwest. And just yesterday, the President adding that he may bring in the National Guard to help tackle crime. I feel bad about it, but there ain't nothing we can't do. The crime is pretty crazy in the city. Unfortunately, maybe you need to have a little bit more militarized. I think that people should stay inside. I don't think it's a safe situation for D.C. residents. Now it is important to note that it is unclear if the National Guard is part of the President's plan to increase federal law enforcement, but we do know this move that could start tomorrow is part of the administration's plan to crack down on crime in the district. In March, Trump signed an executive order to make the District of Columbia safe and beautiful. This basically allows the federal government to work with local law enforcement, but also step in to enforce if needed. At a press conference earlier today, U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro says she agrees with the President's move and also called out local leaders. We're seeing far too much crime being committed by young people, 14, 15, 16, 17 years old, that I can't get my hands on. The D.C. Council has to repeal some of these absurd ordinances and laws that they've had passed that do nothing to protect the people of this city and of this district. Now guys, we did reach out to Mayor Bowser and she's aware of the plan that is supposed to happen, but not further commenting. We also did reach out to MPD and they also are aware, but they also highlight that they have not been briefed on an actual plan and execution of this deployment.
