The world stone skimming championship, held in a Scottish quarry, was disrupted by a scandal involving the use of doctored stones. American competitor John Jennings, who won the event, noticed unusually perfect stones being used by others and raised concerns.

Event organizers confirmed that several participants had used machine-altered slate stones, which is against competition rules. Those found cheating were disqualified, and the incident has prompted renewed attention to fair play in the unique sport.

It is with great regret that we announced that we have become aware of doctored stones being used by several competitors. These guys didn't have to admit to it, but they did, even though the evidence, the rocks that were a little too perfect were at the bottom of the quarry. They got bigger pieces of slate and machine them down. Organizers disqualified the cheaters, so only they who are without sin. Can skim the next stone. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to skim the next stone. Scandal here I was thinking this was just chucking rocks. It's so much more to it than it. I've been rocked by this rocked your world.
