Many residents, including children, are surviving on minimal aid, with some families unable to secure even basic staples such as bread or flour. Crowded soup kitchens and limited supplies have left many returning home empty-handed, relying on whatever scraps they can find.

The humanitarian crisis has drawn international concern, with the UN Secretary General describing the situation as a 'nightmare' and a 'humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions.' Over two million people are affected, with the blockade severely impacting access to food and aid.

There is no flesh, just bones from the lack of food, an entire month without bread. Despite their early start, there's already a large crowd. After a long wait, they return to their temporary home, a destroyed classroom in a UN school, empty-handed. Jihan managed to scoop up some dry pasta from the ground. The children, at least, will have a few mouthfuls of something. I couldn't get food from the soup kitchen because of the crowd there. I came home with nothing. Here, look, from the large number of people there is famine. I swear to God, a famine, this is an injustice. Another mother is heading to the northern city of Bethlehem to collect a bag of flour. We came to get aid to provide for our children. I have a family of eight. I want to take even a quarter of a bag of flour to bake and make my children happy. This is all we want. This is the story of every family in Gaza. This is the story of every family in Gaza. And the months-long Israeli blockade is taking its toll on the youngest Palestinians. We are helpless. My child is dying from hunger. That is why I came here. They are suffering. They scream all day long. They want to eat. The UN Secretary General has described the situation as a nightmare, a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions. More than two million people trapped in a man-made famine orchestrated by Israel.
