The ADF chief telling Senate Estimates today he travelled to Beijing in August to raise the incident with his Chinese counterpart. What was their response back? He reiterated his view that the Chinese forces had conducted themselves consistent with law. My point was it was disruptive and not best practice, so they pushed back on the characterisation. Caught off guard by that incident, defence today spruiked its capability amid heightened tension and anxiety across the region. The ADF crediting a recruitment boost to ads on TikTok and Twitch during video games like FIFA and League of Legends, but still falling short since the federal government allowed non-Australian citizens from Five Eyes countries to enlist.
