That property, 40 kilometres south of Yanta, was extensively searched as hundreds of people took to the rural homestead in hopes of finding little Gus alive. However, after a week with no trace of the little boy, other than a footprint in red dirt, the hunt was called off. It's hoped this new area will provide answers to Gus' mysterious disappearance. His devastated family is still assisting authorities with the investigation. But after more than a fortnight without food and water, they are aware it's unlikely Gus will be found alive.
