A court hearing is taking place to address allegations concerning the conditions inside the Broadview ICE facility in Illinois. Detainees, including primary plaintiff Pedro Marino Gonzalez, have described unsanitary and overcrowded conditions, with limited access to basic hygiene and legal counsel. 

Government attorneys have challenged many of the claims but admit there are no beds in the facility, citing legal precedent that this does not constitute a serious deprivation in the short term. The judge presiding over the case has referred to the reported conditions as "disgusting" and must now decide whether further action is warranted.
