On March 10, 2019, both women were supposed to fly from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, but their Boeing 737 MAX jetliner crashed just minutes after take-off. There were no survivors. A lawyer for the victims' families said attempts to reach pre-trial settlement remediation failed in recent months.
