Authorities have urged the public to protect wildlife and called for further investigation into those involved in the illegal trade. Conservationists have raised concerns about the increasing demand for exotic pets in Gulf countries.

We also request that the police expedite their investigation to take further measures against any other individuals linked to this incident. Possession of wildlife is illegal in Somaliland, and police often crack down on suspected traders. Conservationists in the Horn of Africa have expressed concern over the rise in demand for exotic pets in Gulf countries.
