His current focus is on countering a recent redistricting measure from Texas, urging California voters to support the 'election rigging response act' in the upcoming vote.

During Trump's first week back at the White House this year, he visited California, which was reeling from devastating wildfires. But through it all, Newsom remained in Trump's crosshairs. He's a terrible governor. Probably he and Gavin Newsom would be probably the two worst. As Democrats try and get their act together ahead of next year's midterms, Newsom has no qualms reaching out across the aisle. While he predominantly features voices from the left on his podcast, he's defended bringing on far-right figures like Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Trump. The governor's current focus ahead of the midterms, responding to a recent redistricting measure from Texas. Gavin Newsom's strategy is to fight fire with fire, with the state's voters set to decide on if California should redraw their maps in a special election in November. Let's defend democracy.
