It's a terrifying end to a routine run. The 172X express en route to the city, police say, clipped a power pole around 9am and ploughed into a freestanding North Bargalla carport. We heard the massive bang and I shot outside and saw this, which was shocking. A mess, just a scene that doesn't really seem real. A bus lobbed in Brian's front yard. The driver, a 37-year-old man and his 15 passengers, shaken but uninjured and picked up by the next service. It's a very, very tricky route. Very difficult for them. So I really feel for him. He was very upset. Just beyond the rubble and narrowly escaping harm, a 15-year-old girl home alone at the time. She was pretty shaken when she called me. We've had to isolate the power and the gas for precautionary purposes at the moment so we can put in place a heavy tow and get the bus removed. It's easy to understand residents' concerns here. The road is narrow, the bends are tight. 10 News understands the driver swerved to miss a car. And those crucial moments in the lead up are what police are now trying to firm up. We just have not been listened to at all. We're shocked and disappointed but we're not surprised that this has actually happened. The bus was hoisted out of the wreckage before heading back to the depot. Olivia Blunden, 10 News.
