Tunisia has been hit by the heaviest rainfall in more than 70 years, causing floods that killed at least four people in the city of Moknin, Monastir Governorate. The victims included two people swept away by floodwaters and a woman who drowned in her home. 

The National Institute of Meteorology reported exceptional rainfall in January, with Monastir, Nabil, and Greater Tunis being the hardest hit. Authorities suspended classes in 15 of Tunisia's 24 governorates, and neighboring Algeria also experienced severe flooding, resulting in one death in Relizan province.

Flooding in Tunisia has killed at least four people after parts of the country experienced the heaviest rainfall in over 70 years. On Tuesday, authorities said all four deaths occurred in the city of Moknin in the Monastir Governorate. Two people were swept away by floodwaters while a woman drowned in her home. Tunisia's National Institute of Meteorology recorded exceptional amounts of rainfall for the month of January, with the regions of Monastir, Nabil and Greater Tunis the hardest hit. It hasn't stopped raining since last night. At first I didn't pay attention to it, there were only a few small leaks, but when I got out of bed I found my feet in water. Authorities on Wednesday suspended classes in public and private schools and universities in 15 of the country's 24 governorates. In neighbouring Algeria, several regions have also been hit by massive downpours and floods. Algerian authorities said a man in his 60s died in flooding in the northwestern province of Relizan.

President Trump spoke at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, addressing European allies as tensions rise over his Greenland demands. Mr. Trump demanded immediate negotiations to acquire the territory and claimed he wouldn't use force. Ed O'Keefe reports.
