His weight had dropped to seven kilograms, below the average for a six-month-old baby. According to Gaza's health ministry, close to 230 people have died from malnutrition, around half of them children. In a joint statement on Tuesday, foreign ministers from 24 Western countries said, quote, famine is unfolding before our eyes, calling for immediate and concrete steps to allow more aid into Gaza. The elders group, consisting of former world leaders, blamed Israel for causing famine in Gaza, calling the war for the first time an unfolding genocide. Hundreds of thousands of Gaza's children are not getting and will not get that care and they will die. They will die if they are suffering from acute malnutrition. Israel denies there is starvation in Gaza as it prepares to occupy the territory. The World Health Organization says it needs to be able to stock up essential supplies before Israel seizes control of the city.

At least 123 people have been killed in 24 hours, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says people will be given the opportunity to leave Gaza before a planned ground offensive, but no one is being pushed out.
