The championship is the highlight of the Tango BA Festival, which is organised by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Culture and features over 500 activities at more than 50 venues. Tango, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage, continues to be celebrated for its cultural significance in Argentina and Uruguay.

Tango, a traditional dance with a rich heritage in Argentina and Uruguay, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage.
