Despite daily humanitarian pauses implemented by Israel to allow food into Gaza, aid organizations report that the supplies are not reaching those in need quickly enough. 

Humanitarian groups and medical professionals, including those cited in a recent Lancet report, have called for a complete ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of aid and address the crisis. Accusations of genocide against Israel have been raised by international organizations and, for the first time, by two Israeli human rights groups, though Israel strongly denies these claims. The Lancet report highlights a drastic drop in life expectancy and a high number of child deaths, attributing the crisis in part to the use of starvation as a weapon of war.

We begin tonight in the Middle East. In Gaza, seven more people have died from malnutrition as the food shortage crisis continues. Tomorrow, President Trump's envoy travels to Israel for talks on ending the war and freeing hostages. CBS's Deborah Pata is in Amman, Jordan, where tons of food sits just waiting to be distributed. The war in Gaza has reached a tipping point. Images of starving children have shaken the world and forced Israel to implement a daily humanitarian pause to allow food in. But in this warehouse in Amman, we saw pallets of aid packed from the floor to the ceiling. So what people need to understand, it's not a lack of aid that's a problem. It's just not getting into Gaza fast enough. What's needed is a complete ceasefire, say humanitarian groups, so that Gaza can be flooded with aid. But deliberate starvation is not the gravest crime Israel is accused of. It's genocide, say a growing number of organizations, including the UN. And now, for the first time, two Israeli human rights groups. We have been witnessing a reality that has left us no choice but to acknowledge the truth. Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. It's a charge Israel vehemently denies. It is baseless. There is no intent key for the charge of genocide. But today, in a report published by The Lancet, a group of medical professionals said it was time to break the silence on genocide. Their findings are damning. Life expectancy has reportedly fallen by 35 years. Gaza has the highest number of child deaths of any other conflict zone. And the report concludes starvation has been relentlessly wielded as a weapon of war. Deborah Parra, CBS News, Amman, Jordan.
