A woman has cheated death after a high-speed crash in Adelaide's northern suburbs. Witnesses say the car became airborne and careened into a house before rolling and trapping the driver inside.

A serious car crash occurred in Clearview, South Australia, when a black Holden Commodore crashed on Hampstead Road, causing extensive damage to a local residence. The vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old woman, flipped onto its roof after striking another car and a fence, trapping the driver inside. Nearby residents responded to her calls for help until emergency crews arrived and freed her from the wreckage. She was transported to hospital in serious condition. The impact also ruptured a gas main, forcing the homeowners to evacuate and leaving them facing significant repairs.

She hit an uber on the way in just before she hit the house, flipped up something and it must have been airborne through the top of the fence, it hit over here, there was a license plate in the tree. In another car, a 30-year-old male driver and his passenger were unharmed, but the driver of the Commodore wasn't so lucky, her car had flipped onto its roof, trapping her inside. My wife heard the noise, like the help, help, like that. Nearby residents rushed to her aid, responding to her cries, before emergency crews could free her from the overturned vehicle. It took around 10 minutes to take it out, they couldn't open the door and the front of the car is very smashed. The 32-year-old driver was rushed to hospital in a serious condition, but the disaster wasn't over. Back at the wrecked home, the Matthew family was forced to evacuate upon discovering a gas leak from a main, ruptured in the impact. Homeowners now face the prospect of a long and costly repair. Emergency crews reinforced the structure so they could return home, and ultimately call their insurers. We need to get this at least fenced off, because there'll be people in the house tomorrow night walking around, taping stuff, living on a main road, it's a big problem. Rebecca Wilson, 10 News.
