Busfield surrendered to authorities in New Mexico on Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued. He's accused of inappropriately touching two 11-year-old twin boys on the side of The Cleaning Lady, a Fox crime drama he directed and produced. According to court documents, the alleged contact occurred over two years, when the boys were aged seven and eight. Before surrendering, Busfield posted a video proclaiming his innocence, calling the allegations, quote, lies, and saying that he will, quote, be exonerated. In an interview in November, he suggested a possible motive for the allegations against him. Citing information from Cleaning Lady star L.O.D. Jung, Busfield said the boys' mother sought revenge after producers replaced her sons in the show's final season. Busfield faced his charges of child abuse and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
