The event is attended by more than two dozen world leaders, including Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong-un, and features a display of China's advanced military equipment.

The parade coincides with a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a regional alliance with increasing influence in global affairs. The SCO, which now includes countries such as Iran, Russia, China, and India, is holding a two-day summit in northern China, emphasizing its role in fostering cooperation and stability across Eurasia.

This comes as Putin and other leaders concurrently attend the summit for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Northern China. And of course the SCO makes a tangible contribution to strengthening the atmosphere of cooperation and mutual trust throughout the Eurasian continent, thereby helping to lay the political and socio-economic preconditions for the formation of a new system of stability, security and peaceful development in Eurasia. A little-known but influential alliance, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is holding a two-day summit. Originally focused on Central Asia, its 10 members now include rivals of the West like Iran and Russia, as well as key U.S. trade partners like China and India. The group's expanding influence contrasts with its long name, recognition and clear objectives.

Belgium joins the ranks of Australia, France, Canada and the UK, all who have pledged to recognize a Palestinian state at the UNGA next week in a bid to ramp up pressure on the Israeli government to end the war in Gaza.
