During their talks, Xi described the partnership as being at an unprecedentedly high level, with both nations committed to supporting each other's development and promoting fairness in global governance. The discussions precede a large military parade in Beijing, intended to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and to showcase China's military and technological advancements.
