To keep going and keep fighting, it means courage. Courage. That's the theme of this year's Women's Forum in Paris. For its 20th edition, leaders, athletes and activists gather to talk equality, empowerment and find solutions to the violence that still impacts women around the world. One of the key topics this year, sports. It's a sector that's booming but still fighting for the spotlight. One of the problems we see in sport beyond the fact that it doesn't get visibility, women's sport doesn't, is that there still is violence and sexism in sport for women who are practicing it. So we know that it's one in three young women faced sexist or sexual harassment in sport. And that's got to stop. For Afghan-Iranian taekwondo champion and refugee Marzia Hamidi, sport is more than competition. It's a form of resistance. She fled the Taliban a few years ago, but even in France, she still faces death and rape threats, currently living under police protection. Yet she continues her fight for women's freedom. I continue this fight. It's not easy. I'm paying with my mental health. I'm lost in life. I don't feel good. I'm in depression, anything. But I want to fight for the young girls in Afghanistan because they are in a really bad situation. It's worse than my situation. And it's my duty as a human being, not as someone who's coming from Iran, Afghanistan, Middle East, Asia, just as a human being to fight against injustice. In French sports, violence against women remains a stark reality. Angélique Cauchy, once a rising star of French tennis, was raped by her coach between the ages of 12 and 14. She now leads the NGO Rebond, fighting to prevent abuse in sports. Women everywhere still face risks and difficulties, from the playing field to the boardroom. The Women's Forum in Paris serves as a platform to spotlight their fight and promote real solutions.
