Police are investigating after the body of a woman was found floating in Currumbin Creek on the Gold Coast. Residents along Whitsunday Drive alerted authorities after spotting the body, which was reportedly fully clothed and wearing an ill-fitting life vest secured with rope. Forensic officers have concentrated their initial investigations on the garage of a home backing onto the creek. The cause of death has not been confirmed, and police have not released the woman's identity as inquiries continue.

Woman's body discoverd in Currumbin Creek

This is very much a developing story and therefore evidence and information is still being gathered. What has been confirmed is that the body of the woman was spotted floating in Corumban Creek on the Gold Coast late this afternoon by residents who live along Whitsunday Drive and they called police. As these images show, forensic officers have been concentrating their initial investigations on the garage of one particular home which backs onto that creek. Now unconfirmed reports say the deceased woman appeared to be fully clothed, complete with shoes and was wearing an ill-fitting life vest which was secured to her body by rope. Ursula, a cause of death hasn't been confirmed at this stage and if police know the woman's identity that information isn't being shared with the media at this stage as investigations continue.
