While families across Venezuela anxiously await the release of their loved ones held as political prisoners, the picture of a police officer emerged. Edison Jose Torres Fernandez, 52, arrested for allegedly sharing criticism of the regime last month. His death in prison was announced on Saturday. Human rights NGOs accused those in power of being responsible. At least 800 people are being held in Venezuelan prisons for political reasons. This teenager was arrested at 17 for posting a video of a protest. Reunited with his family at last, this is the moment he hears about Nicolas Maduro's capture. In Caracas, Nicolas Maduro's son said his father was doing well. The lawyers have told us he's strong. He said we're not sad, we're not sad, we're doing well, we're fighters. Words that may comfort the modest crowd of a few hundreds that protested in Caracas to demand his release and to defy the US. Our oil belongs to Venezuela. It belongs to Venezuela, not to any foreign country. And as Venezuelans, we will continue fighting. If they come to our country for our benefit, they will be welcomed, but we won't be intimidated by anyone. With the resumption of international flights, the US State Department on Saturday urged Americans to leave the country immediately. It said the colectivos armed militias are searching for US citizens and people with ties to the US.
