US President Donald Trump will meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Washington to discuss a plan for supplying weapons to Ukraine via NATO allies. Trump has stated that the US will sell weapons, such as Patriot air defense systems, to NATO countries, which will then transfer them to Ukraine. 

The meetings will also include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and members of Congress. Trump criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for ongoing air attacks on Ukraine, emphasizing the urgency of providing military support. US officials indicated that weapons currently deployed with NATO allies in Europe could be quickly transferred to Ukraine, with European countries purchasing replacements from the US.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is set to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump this week after the U.S. leader announced plans to sell weapons to NATO allies for eventual transfer to Ukraine. Rutte will be in Washington on Monday and Tuesday for talks with Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and members of Congress. The visit comes as Trump accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin of talking nice and then bombing everybody as Russia continues to batter Ukraine with intense air attacks. We're not paying anything for it, but we will send it, it will be business for us and we will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening, so there's a little bit of a problem there and I don't like it. Rubio said U.S. weapons Ukraine wants are deployed with NATO allies in Europe. These can be quickly transferred to Ukraine and European countries can buy replacements from the U.S. Weapons which will be sent to Ukraine via NATO will include Patriot air defense systems, according to Trump.

Following his recent criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans to send Patriot missiles to Ukraine. Trump, for the first time since he took office in January, is also considering authorizing new funding for Ukraine.
