It's like living in hell. The city is in big trouble, apparently, literally on fire, we're told. Portland is burning to the ground. Although it doesn't seem it, at least not at first glance. Let's go take a look. There have been nighttime protests at an immigration detention facility since June. Some violent clashes, tear gas fired, protesters arrested, but not citywide. We're talking about an area roughly about the size of a city block. Take a look. See that wall down there with the greenery and the shrubbery? Down to here, this yellow police tape, you could walk it in about two minutes. This is a residential neighborhood, miles from downtown. You come here during the day, this is what you're likely to see, just a handful of people. And often at night, dancing unicorns and pandas. The president says you guys are guilty of a rebellion, big enough to bring in the National Guard. What do you make of that? Domestic terrorists here, apparently. We actually had a big dance party last night. It was a lot of fun. A judge banned Trump from activating Oregon's National Guard on Saturday, saying the situation wasn't bad enough. And again on Sunday, claiming they tried to circumvent her ruling by sending troops in from other states, banning National Guard coming from anywhere in the country. But now the president is considering doing it anyway. We have an insurrection act for a reason. If I had to enact it, I'd do that. So we have Denise, we have Kermit the Dog. Denise, you're sipping your chai latte. You clearly don't seem very concerned about this violence the president says is here. Quite frankly, it's embarrassing. When you think of people suffering in the Ukraine, people who are losing everything, whose children are being killed in bombings, when you think of Palestine, when you think of people basically starving to death. And the president of the United States has the gall to call Portland, Oregon and Chicago war zones. Come on, come on. But the president insists this situation is serious enough to send the soldiers in. Hopefully the National Guard comes in so they can join the block party. Appeal court judges heard the Trump administration's case on Thursday. They're now deciding what to do. That ruling could come at any time, meaning these war ravaged streets and those are the president's words, could soon see those troops on the ground here that Oregon did not ask for and does not want.
