A two-alarm fire broke out just after 6 a.m. at a multi-family home on Hart Place in Coney Island, Brooklyn, resulting in three people sustaining minor injuries. Over 100 firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the scene, and the fire was contained after affecting the second floor and roof of the building.

The aftermath left residents unable to return to their homes, with significant damage including burnt debris and blown out windows. The Red Cross is assisting two households, totaling seven people, while fire marshals continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.

Yes as you can see here behind me it's still a fairly active scene hours after that fire was put out as fire trucks and firefighters have been in and out and I know that residents are still not being allowed back inside at this time. Burnt debris, blown out windows and a dryer with clothes still inside. This is just some of the aftermath of the fire. Residents are left to clean up that fire breaking out just after 6 a.m. here along Hart Place. FDNY says the flames were on the second floor and the roof of this multi-family home which currently houses multiple people. It took more than a hundred firefighters and emergency personnel to contain the blaze that left three people with minor injuries. I spoke with one man who lives two doors down and he says he was awoken but smelled smoke. All of a sudden I smelled like something burning you know and I was like what is this? My wife started screaming you know she said grab all the kids it's fire outside it's fire. And fire marshals on the scene tell me the investigation remains ongoing into what exactly caused the fire.
