A Thai court has dismissed a royal insult case against former Prime Minister Thaksin Chinawat. The court ruled that there was insufficient evidence from the plaintiff to proceed with the case. In its deliberations, the court analyzed the language used by Thaksin and determined that his statements did not refer to individuals protected under Thailand's lese-majeste law, also known as Article 112. As a result, the charges against Thaksin were dropped.

The court reached a verdict to dismiss the case against the defendant, who was former PM Thaksin Chinawat. There were many reasons for the acquittal, but in short, it all comes down to the fact that there was insufficient evidence from the plaintiff. The court sees that the interpretation has happened, but to answer whether the defendant referred to individuals protected under the 112 law, the court based their deliberations on the grammatical aspects, the subject, verb, and adjectives. They deemed that the subjects spoken of in the interview did not refer to those protected under the 112 law.
