The Sydney Roosters have acknowledged shortcomings in their recent performance and are making adjustments to their lineup. Sandon Smith, previously overlooked, is set to play and has a single game to prove himself before Hugo Savala's return, while Victor Radley is sidelined with a shoulder injury expected to keep him out for several weeks. 

In other NRL news, the Cronulla Sharks are negotiating to retain Blake Braley, who has declined the club's initial contract extension offer. The Sharks' halves, Braden Trindle and Nico Hines, have worked to improve their on-field connection, and Parramatta Eels are boosted by the return of Mitchell Moses.

Ellie, do the Roosters admit they got it wrong, but last week it was glaringly obvious. Chad Townsend was off the pace, Sandon Smith was overlooked. Look, it didn't work out how we wanted last week, but there's two separate things there. There's obviously, we weren't happy with the way we played, but also Sandon wasn't there for a reason, but we've always believed him as a player, I think. With Hugo Savala returning next week, the Harv's shuffle will continue, giving Smith one game to prove himself. I want him to play his game, I want him to attack the game. That mission made harder with Victor Radley missing with a shoulder injury. He himself yesterday saying he was a day-to-day chance of playing. In reality, it's much worse. More closer to three or four, but yeah, we've just got to repair and do the work. The Sharks have plenty of work to do behind the scenes to lock down Blake Braley. The comp's form hooker has reportedly knocked back Cronulla's first offer to extend his contract. Yeah, I know how much the club means to him, so I would imagine Blake would want to be here and the club, of course, they'd want him here as well. Braley has received plenty of accolades for the Sharks' form, the Harv's are reaping the rewards. Braden Trindle admitting a month ago he and Nico Hines were singing from different hymn sheets. Yeah, on the field, I think one was pushing, the other was pulling kind of thing on the field and obviously had a chat about it and yeah, we worked on it on the field, like I said. Yeah, I think it's come along well. It's hard to connect when you can't see, just ask Junior Barlow. Yeah, I'm all good, the eye's not the problem. Still got another eye to see out of and I'll be right. At least helping fix a few of the other problems at Parramatta is the return of Mitchell Moses.
