Police are probing links between two attacks on homes in which shots were fired and cars set alight just. The shootings, which police believe took place within minutes of each other, occurred in Cabramatta and Green Valley.

Police in Sydney are investigating a series of targeted attacks involving shootings and arson in the suburbs of Cabramatta and Green Valley. In the first incident, a blue hatchback stopped outside a Cabramatta home, where five shots were fired and a white station wagon was set on fire, causing damage to the property and minor injuries from smoke inhalation to a resident.

Shortly after, a similar attack occurred in Green Valley, where warning shots were fired and a silver Hilux was set alight. Police noted similarities between the incidents, including the type of vehicle and firearm used. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

The car in question was understood to be scoping out the scene just moments earlier, well alight by the time crews arrived, the flames quickly took hold spreading to the front facade. A family of four not known to police asleep inside, a 57 year old woman was treated for smoke inhalation, her three adult children unharmed. I don't know how it happened to me like that, how it all gone, I don't know. Less than half an hour later it's a case of deja vu in Green Valley, this time police say seven warning shots were fired into the air outside another family home. A now scorched silver Hilux swiftly extinguished by two adult Vietnamese residents inside. A third not in at the time but connected to a raid at the property earlier this year is already on authorities radar. Authorities that today showed up six hours later. So we're concerned about that delay and that's part of the investigation that is being undertaken as a result of it. Police are now on the hunt for those behind these targeted attacks, the driver, arsonist, shooter, gun and the getaway car itself and are asking anyone with details on their whereabouts to come forward. The type of vehicle is similar, the nature of the incident is very similar as well as the type of firearm used. Olivia Blunden, 10 News.
