Four members of NASA's Crew-11 mission safely returned to Earth early Thursday after their International Space Station mission was cut short because of a medical issue.

Four crew members from the International Space Station returned to Earth off the coast of San Diego after their mission was cut short due to a medical evacuation. NASA reported that this was the first time a U.S.-led spacecraft mission ended early because of COVID-19, though the agency emphasized the situation was not an emergency.

The SpaceX Crew 11 capsule, carrying astronauts from the United States, Japan, and Russia, landed more than a month ahead of schedule. The crew was transported to a medical facility in the San Diego area for evaluation, and NASA did not disclose the identity or condition of the affected astronaut, citing medical privacy.

The crew members were evacuated to a hospital in San Diego, a hospital in the Pacific off the coast near San Diego as rescue boats rushed in to very carefully docked the capsule. Well during a post return news conference, NASA wouldn't say which crew member got sick or what caused it citing medical privacy. Take a listen.
