It was the second ICE-related shooting in the city in just over a week, with tensions rising since the fatal shooting of Rene Good on the 7th of January amid a major immigration crackdown that has seen thousands of ICE officers sent to Minnesota's largest city. Governor Tim Walz has accused the federal government of conducting a campaign of organized brutality against the people of Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security says ICE agents have made more than 2,000 arrests in Minnesota since early December and has vowed to continue operations.
