Police report that the suspect, identified as a former employee of the club, entered the premises and opened fire. One of the injured, who was working as a host at a wedding in the club, was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Quick action by patrons and law enforcement helped prevent further casualties, with the suspect being apprehended in a nearby neighborhood within half an hour of the incident. The mother of the deceased expressed her shock and grief, emphasizing the personal impact of the tragedy.

The mother of the man who was killed says she was shocked to learn her son was a victim. When I watched the news and they said a man was killed, I go, but it can't be my son. So that's what runs through your mind, it can't be. It just can't be. CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano joins us from Nashua, New Hampshire. Lilia, good morning. It's tough to imagine what that mother is going through, but what are we learning about what happened at a country club? Well, Errol, this was a frightening scene. The way police described it is somebody who used to be an employee of that country club went in and started shooting. As you mentioned, there are three victims of gunshots, but there are more people who had to run out and were injured as well. We heard from Robert DeCesar's mother just now. I spoke with his brother yesterday and he kept telling me, look, my mother, it's very hard, of course, at this moment to speak out, to give interviews, but she wanted to talk because she wants to make sure that he's not just another statistic, another person killed by a stranger in an incident of horrific gun violence. Police talked about how quickly people responded, patrons at that restaurant, and at the same time, there was a wedding happening in that country club in a separate area. One of the victims who, according to police, was shot in the face and was airlifted to a Boston-area hospital was the host serving at that wedding. He was in the hallway. One of the things that really struck me was the quick action of the people who were there because the suspect was using a handgun. I'm hoping to talk to police today and to interview the police chief or to talk to the DA and understand the difference between this could have been a lot more deadly. They said they were able to catch the suspect within a half hour of the incident, which is extremely quickly in an incident like this. He was in a nearby neighborhood. But something that you have to think about is also the type of weapon. He had a handgun. Somebody described that one of the people in the restaurant struck a chair on top of him. And so, I mean, to stop him, and people reacted. But I think it's important because we have seen shootings like these where the use of force has a greater capability and we could be talking about a lot more victims. Yeah, at least we saw very fast police work there. Lilia, thank you very much.
