As more than 1,000 miles of storms and showers rumbled into the East Coast on Nov. 7, some of the strongest storms slammed Kentucky and Tennessee.

A large weather system is producing over 1,000 miles of showers and storms from the northeast to the mid-South of the United States. The strongest storms are currently affecting Kentucky and Tennessee, with a tornado watch in effect for central Tennessee and severe thunderstorm warnings issued for the Nashville area.

The severe weather risk stretches from the Gulf Coast through the mid-South into the Northeast, with significant lightning and heavy rainfall reported. While some areas, such as Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, have seen only sporadic, non-severe showers, strong winds and the potential for power outages remain concerns as the storms continue into the evening and overnight hours.

We have over 1000 miles worth of showers and storms here to track across parts of the northeast to the mid south. Now the strongest storms right now continue across the states of Kentucky and Tennessee. As of right now, no severe thunderstorm warnings in effect here for this region as of right now. But you can see that we still have a couple of bands, a couple of regions, a couple of zones here of clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms. But once again, as of right now, none of these storms are severe, but we will be watching out for that that trend to continue because we look at the lightning, you can see some of these storms are still producing some pretty good lightning bands here as we head into this evening. As we go on up the line, you can see here pretty much the dividing line will be the Ohio River. If you live to the east or to the north of the Ohio River, pretty much you're gonna be dealing with just chilly rainfall here as we head into this evening and we have a lot of that chilly rainfall continuing here across the I 80 corridor there in central P. A. But overall, another thing we want to point out is that yes, there will be that risk of severe weather, including a tornado watch in effect for central parts of Tennessee primarily. Now, the good news is some of the western counties on this tornado watch have been trimmed off as this line of storms continues to work its way across the region. But yes, the I 40 corridors primarily where we've seen the strongest storms here across central Tennessee. But the overall risk for severe weather will still extend from the Gulf Coast all the way up through parts of the mid south into the northeast as well. This is where we're gonna see the highest potential of severe storms with that tornado watch almost bullseye in the center of our accurate exclusive storm zone. And the main zone here will be for the central and northern portion where we've seen widespread showers and storms, even severe thunderstorm warnings there for the Nashville Metro. Now to the south, we've had some sporadic spotty showers there across parts of Mississippi, Alabama into Georgia. None of those storms have been severe, which is good news. But as we head into this evening, as we head to tonight, we're still gonna be watching out for some strong winds and some heavy downpours of rainfall.
