Severe storms will be possible from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains Monday night. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats, but isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out in places like Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Omaha.

Central parts of the United States are experiencing a significant threat of severe weather, with regions from southern Kansas to central Oklahoma, as well as parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas, under watch. The forecast includes the possibility of damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall, which could lead to flooding.

While tornadoes are not expected to be widespread, isolated occurrences cannot be ruled out. The severe weather threat is associated with the seasonal return of cold fronts, which can intensify atmospheric conditions and increase the risk of storms and flooding.

Omaha and portions of southwestern Iowa and North Missouri. Another hotspot that could see a few of those stronger storms hail. One of the things we're going to be watching for and again these storms. So what we have out there this morning, mainly heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. But look at all that energy as it comes into the Central Plains overnight tonight and then into tomorrow morning damaging wind potential, especially with that damaging nature with some of these storms and then also scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms. Their eastern Nebraska and portions of Iowa severe weather. Again, a possibility as all of that energy kind of pushes eastward into eastern Oklahoma. Much of western Arkansas, Fort Smith, you're included in this. Also have a risk for tornadoes. It's been a little while since we've had a severe weather threat. We've seen it in the northern plains, but it hasn't been as widespread as what we're starting to see, and certainly not this far South. So this is something we're going to have to watch. We're starting to get into that second severe season as we get the return of cold fronts to work their way in across the country, and that can amplify the atmosphere a little bit again. Not a widespread threat for tornadoes, but certainly couldn't rule out a few. Damaging wind potential and I am concerned about the flooding.
