Authorities in Stamford, New York, have discovered a second decomposed body concealed on the second floor of a house following a recent standoff and shootout. The recovery of the body was delayed due to the presence of explosives, including pipe bombs and grenades, which were left inside the house.

Police report that Jed Parkington fired multiple rounds at officers and drones before taking his own life during the incident. The Stamford Police Department Major Crimes Unit is overseeing the investigation, and further details about the second body have not yet been released as the house was only recently cleared of explosives.

Well, that decomposed body is the breaking, shocking new details out of what was already a shocking standoff and shootout yesterday in Stanford. Police say that that second body appeared to be concealed on the second floor, but officers have not actually been able to recover that body yet because the house was booby trapped with explosives. This was a wild shootout right in the middle of the afternoon, right in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. Only News 12 Connecticut was in the middle of it. All police say Jed Parkington fired multiple AK 47 style rounds at officers and their drones before taking his own life. After the incident was over, they still had to contend with pipe bombs and grenades that he left inside that house. And once they took drones inside the house, they made a gruesome discovery. Here is Chief Tim Shaw while checking the home for explosives, the second body was discovered on the second floor. The body was concealed and appeared to be in a decomposed state. Stanford Police Department Major Crimes Unit will oversee the investigation of the second body discovered. Now, right now, they cannot tell us much about that second body, whether it was a male or female or just how decomposed it was because again, they've just now cleared the house of explosives so that they can actually get in there and recover that body.
