Large portions of the United States are experiencing record or near-record warmth during the Christmas holiday period. Temperatures have reached unusually high levels from the Southeast to the Northern Plains, with cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, Kansas City, and Denver all reporting above-average readings.

The heat wave has extended into areas including the Ohio Valley, Dakotas, Wyoming, and Montana, with weather maps showing widespread elevated temperatures. Some locations, like Denver and parts of South Dakota, are likely to break temperature records, while clear skies are contributing to rapid warming across the region.

We're talking temperatures for a second, because it has been O2 warm. Potential, record highs, record warm lows, all the way up to some of these latitudes up towards the Ohio Valley, the Dakotas, Wyoming, parts of Montana. Look at this. I mean, we've got red dots all over the place because of this expansive heat wave, if you want to call it that. Today, looking at temperatures from Atlanta to Dallas. Temperatures will likely be in the mid to upper 70s. Yesterday, a lot of cloud cover hung out in parts of the Southeast, and ultimately kept your temperatures down. But with lack of clouds, the sun comes out, boom. You can warm up very, very fast. Tomorrow, same thing. Look at Kansas City at 65. And then you look at this warm notch going all the way up into the east side of Wyoming into South Dakota, where we're likely to break records. Denver at a 70, which you don't like to see if you're a fan of snow.
