And protesters clashed with federal agents carrying out an immigration operation northwest of Los Angeles yesterday. This video includes moments of rocks being thrown at government vehicles as well as authorities, as you see there, responding with smoke bombs. CBS News Los Angeles spoke with neighbors who witnessed it all. It's sad. You know, they're here working. Now they're firing tear gas, smoke bombs, and there's gotta be a better way than the way that they're acting right now. CBS News National Correspondent Carter Evans is at the site of one of those raids from yesterday, Camarillo, California. Good morning to you, Carter. Take us through what happened yesterday and help us understand how these demonstrators knew that this raid was about to take place. Right, so let me first explain where I am. I'm at the entrance here to the farming facility. This is a cannabis farming facility, which is legal here in California. We understand this place is licensed. And my understanding is that federal agents showed up yesterday. The company that owns this farm said that they had a warrant and that they complied, and they started arresting farm workers here. And the video shows the chaos here at the scene. I mean, you had people running through the fields, families running through the fields with kids. In fact, Customs and Border Patrol said on social media that they found 10 juveniles inside this marijuana facility, all undocumented. So I think it was a very scary situation. And you asked, you know, how did people know about this? How did the protesters get here so quickly? Because there were so many of them, dozens in fact. Well, you know, word of mouth spreads really quickly around here, social media as well. I mean, you gotta remember, for the people who live here and the people who work here, this is their lives right now. They live in fear. And these are families of mixed status. You've got maybe parents who are undocumented, who've been here for say 20, 30 years, but the kids are citizens and the grandchildren are citizens. So those are the people who are on alert, ready to come out and protest when these ICE raids occur, like it did here yesterday. Yeah, and we're still looking at some of this remarkable footage, tear gas canisters being kicked back and forth. The FBI says it's searching for a person who allegedly opened fire at ICE agents. What do we know about that part of this story? Right, so this is actually caught on video, one of the helicopters overhead. And you can see a man, he appears to be one of the agitators here. They always tend to show up at these things. And he pulls out what appears to be a handgun and looks like he's opening fire in the direction of federal agents. And so now the FBI is really serious about this. They're looking for that guy and they're offering a $50,000 reward for help finding him. Very serious stuff. Carter Evans with the latest.
