European Union defence ministers and French President Emmanuel Macron have increased pressure on Trump to facilitate a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy, suggesting that a failure to do so would mean Putin has outmaneuvered Trump. While Trump has met with both leaders and urged direct talks, Moscow has so far refused to participate. Ukrainian officials have reiterated their readiness for negotiations, but accuse Russia of stalling and prolonging the conflict.

He's working steadfastly to end the killing and that's something that everyone in the world should celebrate. In New York City Ukrainian officials met with White House Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff to put pressure on Moscow.
