Lifting the focus back to what the Royals do best, Princess Anne arrived at Sydney's Anzac Memorial for a Remembrance Sunday service. Accompanied by our Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Simon Stewart, the Princess Royal with her husband Sir Tim Lawrence by her side, signed a Book of Remembrance after paying homage to our armed forces. Alongside our Governor-General and New South Wales Governor, she lay a wreath for soldiers fallen but never forgotten. Hopes for the future shining brightly as she enjoyed a more relaxed chat with service people outside among the honour guard, army cadets Bella, Harrison and Henry. I mean, it's a bit like surreal, like I never thought when I joined up that I'd have the chance to do this someday. It's a big, big honour. As she walked past, like a little bit of a shiver that went down my back, you know, especially having a mum who's very British, I never really expected to end up meeting the Royal family. Hundreds turned out to catch a glimpse. Wonderful. I just read about it and thought, wow, what an occasion. In fact, I think she probably is the hardest working Royal out of any of them, to be fair. She's been here more than 20 times before, but this trip, she's very much surrounding herself with the military as her family back home continue to battle the fallout from her brother Andrew. James Thorpe, RAR State Vice President, mentioned he'd met her brother. Which one? The main one, yeah? I did hear you say you met her brother. What did she say to you? She asked me which one. And I said her older brother, the King. She was probably relieved to hear it was the older brother. I can't say that, sir. Next stop, Victoria Barracks and a change into her own army greens. Princess Anne inspected the parade, then commemorated 100 years of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. 100 years of service, innovation and dedication is a remarkable milestone.
