It just keeps popping back up and running. East of the city, residents in Parkerville returned to survey the damage from a blaze that began when a tree fell onto power lines. Among them, the Moody's, whose home of 17 years was destroyed in just minutes. Wow, not much left, eh? That was a very hot fire. Julie Moody was at work when she received an emergency alert on her phone, prompting her to check CCTV of her property. Saw that my dogs were wandering around with lots and lots of smoke and checked the camera near the pool and I saw that all the bush around the pool was on fire. Her husband Craig raced home. I was trying to get the dogs out of the way without anything else. It was all on flames across the driveway. He saved the dogs, but it was too late for the rest. Our son had his 17th birthday the day before the fire, so all his presents, everything are gone. The family has now returned home. To a scene of twisted and melted metal. Yeah, it's pretty devastating. And an uncertain future. I love this place. I'd love to stay here. I don't know. I don't know. The Parkerville community already banding together to support each other through the days and weeks ahead.
