Five teenagers are in custody, four charged with breaking into the home of an accused murderer before leading police on a pursuit through Sydney's west. The alleged midnight attack is believed to be a gangland revenge plot.

Five teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, were taken into custody after allegedly forcing their way into a home in Guilford, NSW, armed with rods. The incident resulted in property damage, including smashed car windows and a broken door pane, but no injuries to the family inside. 

Police pursued the suspects after they fled the scene in a stolen Mercedes SUV, which was eventually stopped in Prospect. One teenager was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm, while the others were brought to Granville Police Station. Authorities are investigating whether the home invasion is linked to recent gang-related activity, following the arrest of a 19-year-old at the same property in connection with a previous shooting.

The family of four was inside at the time and while a woman could be heard crying, no one was hurt and as for the perps, well, they didn't stick around. Hot on their tail, police say they attempted to pull over a vehicle on Blacksall Street at Granville and when the 16 year old behind the wheel refused, the chase was on. Continuing down the M4 motorway to the dead-end Reservoir Road at Prospect where the driver failed to complete a u-turn. The Mercedes SUV with switched plates stolen from Kensington a fortnight ago became wedged between a parked forklift and a marked cop car. It was all cop cars, this whole street was lit up with cop cars. An 18 year old was taken to hospital under police guard with a suspected broken arm, the others to Granville Police Station. What's under investigation tonight is if the home invasion is a retaliation from one of Sydney's postcode gangs. After a 19 year old man was arrested at the same Guilford property on Tuesday where he was charged over the alleged drive-by shooting murder of underworld figure Dawood Zakaria in May.
