Several council buildings and businesses were closed, and roadblocks were established, preventing movement in and out of the area. After a nearly six-hour manhunt, an 18-year-old man was taken in to assist police with their investigation.

Taylor, the town of Pinjarra, just over an hour south of Perth, was thrown into lockdown today after police received reports of a gunman at a nearby property. Heavily armed officers, including the Tactical Response Group, descended on the town, police searching for the alleged gunman on the ground and from the air. Several council buildings and nearby businesses were forced to shut up shop throughout the day, with no one allowed in or out, as police set up roadblocks along suburban streets. It started off with seeing police officers going up and down, heard some sirens and then the helicopter started up. Half eleven we've seen cops all come and flying down the road and yeah, it's been non-stop since. Taylor, an 18-year-old man, is now assisting police with their investigation after an intense manhunt that lasted nearly six hours.

Analysts say the discussions could be pivotal in clarifying U.S. intentions, easing tensions and reinforcing commitments to Greenland’s sovereignty in the face of strategic interests from Washington.
