Passengers aboard Air Canada Flight 1038 to Toronto evacuated using emergency exit slides after the aircraft returned to Denver. The evacuation was prompted by reports of an odor and possible fire or smoke in the rear galley, with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) now investigating a potential electrical fire. 

Air Canada stated that the evacuation was a precautionary measure. The incident occurred during a period of high travel volume, with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expecting to screen a record number of travelers over the holiday weekend. In related travel news, storms in Texas caused significant flight disruptions, and Southwest Airlines introduced a new aircraft featuring enhanced cockpit security.
