Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis highlighted that the new campus will bring significant job opportunities to the city and contribute to the growing film industry presence in New Jersey. The project is part of a broader effort to attract major film studios to the state, with the mayor noting the involvement of other companies such as Netflix and 1888 Studios. Security for the site will be managed through a combination of private and local police resources, with minimal disruption expected for local residents due to the site's location.

News 12's Kimberly Buck getting more details from the mayor. Now I have to say when I first heard this news I was pretty excited so I'm very happy to be joined by the mayor of Bayonne, Jimmy Davis. Thank you so much for having us in today. So show us right here on the map. Where are we looking? Where is the big studio gonna be? Well the big studio is gonna be right where our Medal of Honor recipients are. That used to be the Texaco property when I was a kid. It's been vacant for over 40 years. Basically what you're looking at is exactly what it looks like and has looked like for over 30 years. So tell us, what is it that we could actually expect here? What are the production studios going to look like? What are they going to bring to the city? Well first and foremost they're gonna bring jobs. Which, you know, every city, every mayor, every governor, what do they wanna do? They wanna bring jobs to their cities, to their state. And that's what this does. The other thing it's doing, and I think the most important thing is, is that we're bringing the movie industry to the state of New Jersey. That's a nice feather in Governor Murphy's cap. He's been working on this for a long time, for eight years now. Now you have the Netflix and now you have 1888 Studios bringing Paramount to the state of New Jersey. And of course we're right in close proximity to New York City so you have your actors coming through which means that you're gonna need security. So what's that going to look like for the city? Well that's actually the easiest part because if you look at the property where it's being built, it's a very easy area to secure. It's right at the end, you know, basically right underneath the iconic Bayonne Bridge. So the area itself is easy to secure. And they'll probably, they'll have their own private security. The police department will chip in and do whatever it is that they need. But the whole construction, everything, really isn't gonna be any hard press on anybody that lives here in the city of Bayonne because of its location. Well I'm excited to hear that and we're gonna take a deeper dive a little later in this afternoon. So we're gonna talk about what it's going to look like and what the jobs are gonna be like and also other, you know, opportunities.
