The New South Wales government has introduced a new policy allowing general practitioners to prescribe repeat ADHD medications to patients with an existing diagnosis. This move is intended to make healthcare more accessible and reduce pressure on specialists, with over 1,300 doctors already participating, particularly in areas like south-west Sydney.

In addition, the government has addressed a proposed bill from the Shooter's Party that would create a new conservation hunting licence and allow the use of sound suppressors on rifles. The Premier stated that the government will not support any proposal to weaken gun laws in the state, a stance welcomed by gun control advocates.

Recreational and conservation hunters are vital partners in controlling invasive species such as feral pigs, rabbits, foxes and wild deer in New South Wales. Proving most controversial is the new hunting licence would allow a sound suppressor on a rifle. Suppressors do not make firearms silent, nor do they increase risk to public safety. They are a tool.
