The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on the eastern Atlantic, where a tropical wave is forecast to move off the coast of Africa on Sunday.

A new tropical wave has emerged off the coast of Africa, and meteorologists are closely monitoring its progress. The National Hurricane Center has assigned a 30% chance for the system to develop into a named storm as it moves across the Atlantic's main development region. 

Forecast models indicate that the wave will take several days to traverse the Atlantic, with its path and potential impact still uncertain. The next name on the Atlantic storm list is Gabrielle, following Erin, but forecasters emphasize that there is currently ample time to monitor the system's development.

So just keep that in mind. Let's look at the European model. And as Kelly mentioned, we have time to watch this one as this area of spin works across the main development region. This is now a week from now, and we're still watching it almost in the middle of the main development region. We stop it there and compare this with the American model. Again, that area of spin moving past the Cabo Verde Islands across the main development region, hopefully taking a turn to the north before reaching the Caribbean islands.
