For months, protests have almost been a part of daily life, activists demanding not only Netanyahu do more, but appealing to the terrorist group to return their loved ones and make peace. If you want to end the war, the simple thing is to free the hostages and the Israeli public won't let Netanyahu continue to make war, I'm sure about that. Earlier this week, Hamas accepted a ceasefire proposal drafted by Qatar and Egypt, fighting would pause for 60 days in exchange for Hamas releasing 10 hostages and Israel releasing 200 Palestinian prisoners. There's a deal on the table. This is the opening we need for a comprehensive deal. We must sign it immediately. Israel is yet to formally respond to the proposal, but today an indication it will negotiate. I've issued instructions to begin immediate negotiations for the release of all our hostages and an end to the war on terms acceptable to Israel. As the IDF encircles what remains of unoccupied Gaza, it's clear he'll have the upper hand in that negotiation. Patrick Murrell, 10 News.
