This decision has led to significant backlash from Israel. One Israeli cabinet minister condemned the move, describing it as a "prize to murderers." Furthermore, Israel has recalled its ambassadors to Norway and Ireland in protest.

The Australian government remains committed to a two-state solution but, as of now, does not recognize Palestine as an independent country.

It has angered many in Israel with one cabinet minister saying the move is a prize to murderers. Israel has also recalled its ambassadors to Norway and Ireland in protest. The Australian government is committed to a two-state solution but does not currently recognise Palestine as a country.
